Gothic-Inspired Vintage Display with the Oklahoma Fashion Museum Collection

Three vampires walk into an opera.. This is a gothic-inspired display with vintage garments we curated from UCO’s Oklahoma Fashion Museum Collection! I wrote the information cards “Art & Architecture” and “Literature and Fashion”. I brought up this specific theme for the display because I am obsessed with the show Interview with the Vampire. There are information cards detailing the origins of goth, the art and architecture, gothic literature, as well as the different styles of goth fashion throughout history. Our curation is displayed in the Human Environmental Sciences building at UCO, and will stay up there for a few weeks.

Oklahoma Fashion Museum Collection

The Oklahoma Fashion Museum Collection holds designer garments dating from the 1800s to the early 1980s. The collection was donated to the University of Central Oklahoma by the Fashion Group of Oklahoma City in 1989, received from a minority group of wealthy and prominent Oklahoman women. The womenswear in this collection ranges from local designers, to Victorian-era pieces, to designer houses like vintage Dior.
